I get an error when trying to access your online services from outside of the United States. What am I doing wrong?

For security purposes, you must use a VPN (virtual private network) to access online services such as eCaseView, Official Records, Jury Services and more from outside of North America. The Clerk of the Circuit Court & Comptroller’s office does not explicitly endorse a specific VPN. Any VPN that simulates the user’s traffic as originating in the United States should be sufficient. Here is one option:

  1. Navigate to https://account.protonvpn.com/signup/account and select Get Free to create a ProtonVPN account.
  2. Follow the steps on the page to create an account.
  3. Once your account is created, select the appropriate ProtonVPN Client depending on what kind of computer you are using (Windows/Linux/MacOS, etc.) to download the VPN.
  4. Install the application.
  5. Open the application and sign in.
  6. Once signed in, select to use the United States on the left side of the application as your IP country of origin.
  7. You should now be able to access our online services without issue. Remember to disable the VPN after you complete your transaction, or your computer will run slower than usual.
