eCaseView User Registration

Guest Users

A user ID and password are not required to use eCaseView. Guest users can search cases, find case information and view and print certain case documents.

Registered Users

Registered users have access to additional search options such as the ability to search by booking number, date of birth or arrest date.

Only registered users or the attorney of record can see document images for the following case types.

Mental Health
Guardianship
Probate
Family

Registered attorneys can also view document images for juvenile and adoption cases for cases in which they are the attorney of record, as well as driver’s license numbers and driving records.

Become a Registered User

To become a registered user, return the completed registration form to the address below.

To register for Attorney of Record access, forms must be either notarized by a Notary or executed by a Deputy Clerk. Visit any Clerk’s office location to have a Deputy Clerk assist you. The Deputy Clerk will ask for your picture ID (and bar card, if you are an attorney) and for you to sign the form in front of them. They will then send the form to the Clerk’s IT Department on your behalf.

FAQs

I get an error when trying to access eCaseView from outside of the United States. What am I doing wrong?
For security purposes, you must use a VPN (virtual private network) to access eCaseView from outside of the United States. The Clerk of the Circuit Court & Comptroller’s office does not explicitly endorse a specific VPN. Any VPN that simulates the user’s traffic as originating in the United States should be sufficient to access eCaseView and eCertify. Here is one option:
1. Navigate to https://account.protonvpn.com/signup/account and select Get Free to create a ProtonVPN account.
2. Follow the steps on the page to create an account.
3. Once your account is created, select the appropriate ProtonVPN Client depending on what kind of computer you are using (Windows/Linux/MacOS, etc.) to download the VPN.
4. Install the application.
5. Open the application and sign in.
6. Once signed in, select to use the United States on the left side of the application as your IP country of origin.
7. You should now be able to access eCaseView and eCertify without issue. Remember to disable the VPN after you complete the eCaseView or eCertify transaction, or your computer will run slower than usual.
What is eCaseView?

eCaseView allows any member of the public to search and view detailed information about civil, criminal and traffic cases filed in Palm Beach County, including charges, dispositions, sentences, court dates, complaints, parties and more. Images of case documents from late 2008 forward are also viewable online.
Is there a cost to use eCaseView?

No, there is no charge for this service. You may view and print uncertified documents from your own computer for free. Electronic certified court documents may be ordered online for $8 per document plus 3.5% payment processing fee.
Do I need to register to use eCaseView?
No, you do not need to register to use eCaseView to search for most case information and view certain documents. Anyone can use eCaseView, without registering, to search by name, case number, citation number, offense date, court type, or case type.

Registered users are able to search by additional criteria: date of birth, incident number, arrest date, booking number and driver’s license number.

Only registered users or the attorney of record can see document images for the following case types.

Attorneys who register as users and include their Bar number will have the same advanced search options as other registered users, plus they will be able to see driving records for cases in which they are the attorney of record. Registered attorneys can also view document images for juvenile and adoption cases for cases in which they are the attorney of record.
Do I need special software to search court records on my computer?

No, all you need is a web browser and internet access. eCaseView is compatible with most browsers that are used on Microsoft Windows and Mac OS computers as well as tablets and smartphones. eCaseView works best in the latest versions of Edge, Chrome, Firefox and Safari.

The latest version of the free Adobe Reader is recommended for viewing document images. Document images are in PDF format.

On older systems or those using older software, users may have difficulty printing document images.
How can I view my court date and location?

After performing a search and locating the desired case, you may select the Court Events tab to display the relevant court information, including date, time, and location. Court events are used in limited cases, such as criminal, small claims and domestic violence. If you are unable to find a court date under the court event tab, please review the docket for possible hearing notices.
How do I sort the data I'm seeing in eCaseView?

Within each screen, if the data is displayed in columns and the column heading is underlined, it may be sorted. Place your mouse over the column heading and click to sort in ascending order, click again to sort in descending order.
Why do some docket entries not have images?

Within a court case, there are many court events that do not generate a document but are displayed on the case docket. There will be no associated image for these events. Or, your security access could prohibit you from seeing the image.
How far back does the data in eCaseView go?

Case data in eCaseView goes back to approximately 1976. Document images are available beginning in late 2008. Case data and images are maintained pursuant to Florida’s retention rules. Therefore, some older information or documents may have been purged from the Clerk of the Circuit Court & Comptroller’s systems.
Can I reschedule a court date for a citation or any type of case?

No. Rescheduling of court dates must be handled in the Clerk’s office.
